The Rat Pack is Back!
6 Favorite Foxtrot Songs
Author: Paul Haefner
While I came of age in the 70’s and spent a lot of time listening to Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd and The Who; I sometimes felt like I was born in the wrong era. I guess I had an old soul, or at least an older soul.
I always LOVED jazz and particularly the smooth pop jazz of the Rat Pack and their contemporaries. Imagine my joy when learning the Foxtrot and searching for Foxtrot music on Spotify. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. crooning through the speakers. I was in heaven. Here are a few of my favorites.
“Blue Moon” by Frank Sinatra
“On the Street Where you Live” by Dean Martin
“You Make Me Feel So Young” by Frank Sinatra
“You’re Nobody Till Somebody Loves You” By Dean Martin
“My Personal Property” By Sammy Davis Jr.
“Beyond The Sea” by Bobby Darin
One of the great joys of ballroom dance is the discovery that you get to dance to some of your favorite music. Foxtrot brought me back to the Rat Pack and the music of many years before, but Ella and Louis will have to wait ‘til next time.
