How long are your classes?

All classes are one hour long. Special events can vary in length.

Do I have to be flexible?

No. Come as you are. Yoga is all about meeting your body and mind exactly where you’re at.

What Should I Wear?

Something comfy!

What Should I Bring?

Private Sessions: We have everything you need but if you have your own mat, feel free to bring it!

Group Sessions: You will need a yoga mat and water bottle. Maybe a small towel if you get sweaty fast!

When are you available for private sessions?

I am available Monday-Saturday. Contact me about specific dates and times!

Do injuries happen often in yoga?

No. As long as you move slowly and with purpose, injuries are unlikely to occur. Injuries are most likely to occur when transitioning between postures. Which is why moving slowly and with purpose is very important as a beginner. Once muscle memory is formed, you can safely pick up the pace.

Do I have to meditate?

No. I do not incorporate meditation into my group classes.  However we do practice the art of Pranayama(breathwork), Pratyahara(control of the senses), and Dharna(concentration) during each group class. If that sounds like a lot, don’t worry, you won’t even realize you’re doing it!

If you wish to learn the art of meditation, that is something we can focus on specifically in Private Sessions.

What style of Yogic Asanas do you teach?

I teach Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. I also incorporate funtional movement exercises into my classes to help with pain modulation.

How can you help me connect my mind and body?

Yoga is a philosophical system that consists of eight limbs. In Private Sessions, I will guide you through these eight limbs, touching on each one as I deem appropriate for you specificallly. Each session will be different depending on how you are feeling and what your needs are at any given moment. Pranayama(control of the vital life force) or breathwork, is our main tool for learning how to block out the distractions of the five senses and concentrate within.
